On May 6, 2011, Performers Unite raised exactly $10,000 for the Canadian Red Cross’ Japan Earthquake and Asia-Pacific Tsunami relief efforts. Thank you once again to all who supported this!!
RST Creative Studios along with affiliates came together in 2010 to create Performers Unite, a NON PROFIT group of professionals just trying to make a difference & change lives.
The Japanese community has been overwhelmed with affliction following the most powerful earthquake that has ever hit the country. Resources were contaminated and destroyed, leaving very limited means for those impacted by the quake. With Japan’s vast population affected, it left nearly 600,000 people homeless and millions without electricity and water, most of which in the Tohoku region. Costs of damages exceed hundreds of billions of dollars, making it the most expensive natural disaster on record. The tsunami created an estimated 25 million tons of rubble and debris over the distressed land.
Fast response in relief aid is expected to supply the shortages in food, water, shelter, medicine, and fuel for refugees. Support is needed for people with pre-existing medical conditions, exposure to cold and wet weather, communicable disease and infection, and unsanitary situations. International aid provide the tenacity for lifting the survivors onto their feet, encouraging a humanitarian effort upon a global cause.
